As of today (Sept. 21st), the price of the EOS-5D Mark II has dropped substantially. The effective price after the $300 instant rebate is as follows:
EOS-5D Mark II body - $1999.99
EOS-5D Mark II kit with EF 24-105mm f/4L IS Zoom - $2799.99
As far as we are aware, this pricing will be in effect until December 31st, 2011 too.
